Being a superhero, my dilemma became apparent: How do I use my powers for good? It’s a question I wrestled with throughout a career in creative direction and journalism, most recently as Editor of the Santa Monica Daily Press. It’s a question that hung heavy in the clouds as I walked across the country on a fundraising campaign a couple years ago. My next step, after those six million, was to find an organization that met the “3 C’s”. It had to be Creative, Collaborative and Charitable. Enter Giive. After traveling from one end of the country to the other, I’m digging in and making a difference at home. At the end of the day, we’re all believers. I believe that’s the ocean I hear inside a conch shell. I believe a cliché in-hand is worth two in the bush. And I believe we get out of this world what we put in. Giive isn’t where superheroes gather. We just store the capes. Mostly, I believe there’s a superhero inside us all.
